Welcome to my website. I am a freelance writer, editor, researcher, and speaker with a nine-year background in sports and technical writing. While working at CNNSi and later CNN Sports, my initial writing task was covering ACC football and basketball for the currently inoperative sports news website, FanStop.com. Within a year at FanStop, I was promoted from a Beat Writer position to Senior Staff Writer. Since then, I have had writing assignments for magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and other online companies, and currently am a freelance writer for Smartfolks, LLC, Covers, and PhilSteele.com.
I have authored four books on University of Georgia football; the latest to be released August 2010.
In April 2009, I started the About Them Dawgs! Blawg - a blog mostly dedicated to UGA athletics, including an occasional update about my books and writing. Also, I have public speaking experience, speaking on a variety of topics, including the book publishing process and industry, and college and UGA football.
In the Fall of 2009, two college football books published by Publications International were released: "Yesterday and Today: Georgia Bulldogs" by Mark Schlabach of ESPN.com and "Yesterday and Today: USC Trojans" by David Wharton of the Los Angeles Times. I was hired as a consultant and fact checker for both book projects.
